Overview
The F-1 Digital Nomad Visa (Workation Visa), introduced in 2024, allows foreigners employed by overseas companies to live in Korea while working remotely. Employment with Korean companies is not permitted; applicants must have income from an overseas employer.

- Freelancers working with overseas clients
- Foreigners wishing to stay in Korea for an extended period while working remotely
- IT and creative professionals pursuing a digital nomad lifestyle
Eligibility
- 1Employed by an overseas company or a freelancer with overseas income sources (1+ year in the same field)
- 2Income proof of at least twice the previous year's per capita GNI (Gross National Income)
- 3Engaged in a profession that allows remote work
- 4Enrolled in health insurance or travel insurance
Required Documents
- Visa application form
- Passport copy
- Photo (3.5x4.5cm)
- Employment certificate or freelance contract
- Income proof (past 12 months)
- Bank balance certificate
- Health or travel insurance proof
- Accommodation proof (lease agreement or hotel reservation)
- Remote work confirmation letter (issued by employer)

Important Notes
- •Employment with companies in Korea is not permitted.
- •Maximum stay is 2 years, extendable in 1-year increments.
- •Accompanying family members (spouse and minor children) can also stay on F-1 dependent status.
